Waxahachie’s five National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) districts — West End, North Rogers Street, Oldham Avenue, Wyatt Street, and the Ellis County Courthouse district — contain some of the finest Queen Anne Victorian residential architecture in Texas. These homes have complex rooflines with multiple gables, turrets, dormers, and ornamental vergeboard trim that standard gutter companies don’t know how to handle.
Standard K-style aluminum often isn’t the right choice here — the ogee profile doesn’t match period architecture. We typically install half-round gutters in copper or faux copper, which complement the decorative millwork these homes are celebrated for. Copper develops a natural verdigris patina (copper carbonate) over time. Faux copper gives you the same warm aesthetic at the aluminum price point.
We’re EPA RRP Rule certified for work on pre-1978 structures — required by federal law for any renovation that disturbs painted surfaces on homes built before the lead-paint ban. This covers the majority of homes in Waxahachie’s historic districts and is a certification most gutter companies skip.

Builders skip gutters to keep base prices competitive. That means homeowners move in, the first heavy rain hits, and water sheets off the roof directly onto the foundation. In Waxahachie’s expansive clay soil, that’s a foundation problem waiting to happen.

Waxahachie sits in the heart of the Blackland Prairie, and the mature tree canopy across the city’s older neighborhoods is one of the things that makes the city beautiful — and one of the things that clogs gutters.
Pecan trees (Carya illinoinensis) are everywhere — along Waxahachie Creek, in established neighborhoods, lining older residential streets. They drop a massive volume of compound leaves, husks, and catkins every fall. Post oaks (Quercus stellata) and cedar elms (Ulmus crassifolia) add samaras, pollen, and persistent leaf litter from spring through late autumn.
For properties with significant tree cover, we recommend 6-inch gutters paired with leaf guards matched to the dominant debris type. The wider trough handles more debris flow before it becomes a problem, and the guards — micro-mesh for fine pollen, screen for larger leaves — keep the bulk of it out entirely.
